The University of Alicante will display a demo of video games created by students

The University of Alicante will hold a one-day workshop to display a demonstration of video games created by students in past years. This will be held within the Cultural Month Activities of the Higher Polytechnic School, which will be held during the month of February.
The games have been developed as a practicum within the course "Games and Virtual Reality." From the academic year 2004/2005 to academic year 2009/2010, the students of this subject have developed about 60 games.
The demonstration will take place next Tuesday, February 25, starting at 9:30 am in the Higher Polytechnic School Bulding I Auditorium. The event will be attended by Julio Gorgé, one of the directors and founders of the video game company from Alicante "Lemon Team", founded by two former students of the Polytechnic, and by some of the authors of the games. "Lemon Team" has specialized in short-term, simple and not very addictive games, designed for mobile devices.
On the other hand, within the Cultural Month programming, the Polytechnic School has organized several contests. One of them is logic programming, applying knowledge of "Prolog" and will be held on 17 and 18 February. Prizes are awarded for a total of 600 euros. Also, on 17 Feb, some seminars on Innovation on Audiovisual and Telecommunications Projects, aimed at students of Telecommunications Engineering in Sound and Image. These Sessions are developed in two sections, one for students to participate in competitions and the other, for presenting companies in the audiovisual sector and the College of Telecommunications Engineers.
