The Información newspaper has recognized "the outstanding work of the UA Students Support Centre" by handing out the VIP Award for the month of April, an award collected by the University President, in the name of the institution, at a gala held at ADDA.
The SSC team, led by Antonio Muñoz and organically attached to the Office of the Vice President for Students, is formed by the technicians Esther Gallego, Joaquina Murcia, Patricia Soler, Domingo Martínez and Tomás Ordóñez; fellowship holders Irene García and José María Fernández, and administrative assistants Mercedes Planelles and Mª Antonia Montesinos.
The Student Support Centre's mission is "to provide specific attention to UA students, who due to personal, family or socio-economic reasons, may be in a disadvantaged situation or whose academic performance is therefore being affected, with the aim of ensuring full university participation, following the principles of equal opportunity and global access through the development and integration programmes, counseling and awareness programmes aimed at the university community".
