Experts and professionals discuss on the possibility of including Civil Liability in Family Law at the UA
Alicante, 14 de octubre de 2011
The case which came to light of a father who became a friend of his own son on his website in a social network is an example of interference in the privacy of children by their parents. Can the damage caused be repaired economically?. This is one of the issues that will be discussed and faced within the International Conference on Civil Liability in Family Lawthat starts on Wednesday, 19th October 2011, at 5.30 pm, at the University of Alicante.
The novelty of the Conference is that, although the liability has always existed, it has been outside the family scope. However, in recent years, they are considering whether it is possible to apply civil liability in Family Law. Should the answer be yes, experts are questioning how the repair of the damages caused should be, which passes through financial compensation. Next week's appointment opens the debate to what extent it is good or not to open the Law of Tort applied in the family scope. Thus, from the damage caused by breach of marital duties, as may be to have a child within a marriage with another person and cause deception about paternity to the couple, to damage caused by children, which parents should repair are some the strengths to be discussed at the meeting.
The International Conference on Civil Liability in Family Law begins on 19th October, at 5.30 pm, and continues throughout Thursday, 20th . The venue is the Graduate Hall at the Faculty of Law, University of Alicante. It will be opened by Nuria Fernandez, the UA Registrar, and the Director of the UA Department of Civil Law, Juan Antonio Moreno Martinez.
Organized by the UA Department of Civil Law within the framework of the research project “Nuevas perspectivas de la responsabilidad civil en el Derecho de Familia” (New Perspectives on Liability in Family Law) funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
