Between the days 3 and 14 of June of the year 1992, celebrated the
Conference of the United Nations on Environment and Development in
River of Janeiro, more known like Summit of River or Summit of the
Earth. Fruit of this meeting signed five documents. One of them was the
execution of the Diary 21 venue, whose program was adopted by 179
countries.
Diary 21 is a program of the United Nations (UN) to promote the
sustainable development understood like improvement of the quality of
life of the community, in balance with the natural capital and with the
local economic capacities (economic development, social equity and
environmental sustainability).
Treat of a plan detailed of actions that allows to analyse the
current situation and elaborate proposals of improvement to the social
problems, economic and environmental current to local level, with the
purpose to resolve them and realise forecasts for the future (21st
century). Treat to resolve the local problems to finish improving the
whole of the planet.
The Diary 21 supposes the commitment of a community to stimulate of
form structured and scheduled the development of measures directed to
do compatible the respect to the environment with the social and
economic development.
The year 2007, the University of Alicante purchased his particular
commitment with the Sustainable Development thanks to the approval of
the program of the Diary 21 that fué executing along the following 12
months, with the aim of minimizar the impact of the daily activity of
our campus.
