The objectives of the research station will focus on research, teaching and training, dissemination of research results and support to the management of protected areas:
Research
Supporting the main and applied research developed by departments, university institutes and research groups in relation to the environmental issues and management of protected areas, buffer zones of the Carrascal de la Font Roja, and the Municipality of Alcoy and surrounding county area.
Stimulating the creation of new lines of research of the UA in accordance with the needs and priorities of the entities involved in the study, conservation and management of natural areas.
To promote the integration of the research station in scientific monitoring networks, especially in long-term studies on different scales, regional, national and international levels.
Teaching and training
Supporting the use of the Natural Park and its surroundings, for the development of educational activities by the UA, particularly in practical activities, seminars and courses.
To encourage the creation of a network of teachers for practical activities.
Establish a line of training in environmental management, especially aimed at protecting the natural environment.
Outreach and support to management of natural areas
Streamlining outreach activities on scientific matters related to the zone of influence of space natural, especially those relating to the study, conservation, restoration and management of natural and human systems.
To facilitate transfer of scientific knowledge generated by the AU for its application in management, conservation and enhancement of natural systems.
To participate in working groups concerning the application of scientific knowledge in the management of natural systems and conservation.
