TITLE I. OF THE STRUCTURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ALICANTE. CHAPTER II
Of the faculties and schools
Article 7. Nature
The faculties and schools are centres of the Organization of the teachings of the undergraduate degrees. They may also teach lessons conducive to obtaining other official and unofficial titles, as well as to carry out the functions established by this Statute and other implementing rules.
The faculties and schools are also units of representation through which the people of General colleges of the University, subject to the exceptions referred to in this Statute are chosen.
Article 8. Powers
They correspond to the faculties and schools the following skills:
a) develop and coordinate curricula of the various degrees, as well as its follow-up and review. b) propose the introduction of new teachings and qualifications. c) organize and carry out the overall coordination of the different lessons taught at the Center, according to the plans of study and teaching programming. d) promote the linguistic standardisation of Valencian in the development of their qualifications. e) promote and develop quality processes in teaching and participate in the assessment of his teachings of teachers involved in their qualifications and activities of staff in administration and services attached to the Centre. f) organizing and coordinating the necessary services and facilities for the development of teaching and academic activity of the teachings and degrees linked to the Centre. g) monitor the overall functioning of the teachings and the fulfilment of the teachers teaching obligations. h) collaborate with the University in the development of those programmes that promote mobility, internationalization and the employment of their students, as well as promote and organize extracurricular activities. i) carry out the necessary academic management actions for access, enrolment and continuation of studies of the students enrolled in degree programmes of the Centre, and issue corresponding certificates. j) organize and develop tests for selection of its students, where appropriate in accordance with the regulations in force. k) to organize and propose its staffing of administration and services, under the terms of the programming of the University. l) manage their budgets and manage the material resources in accordance with the accounting and economic planning of the University. m) promote collaboration with public and private entities for the purposes that are themselves. n) to cooperate with other bodies and units of the University in the performance of their tasks. o) any other duties assigned by the laws, this Statute and other implementing rules.
Article 9. Creation, modification and deletion
The creation, modification and deletion of faculties and schools will be agreed by the Catalan Government, either on its own initiative, with the agreement of the Governing Council of the University, by initiative of the University, by means of proposal of the Governing Council; in both cases, prior favourable report from the Social Council. Will it inform the General Conference on University policy.
Proposals for the creation and enlargement of faculties and schools provided for in this article are put in place to the regulations issued by the Generalitat. The proposals assist criteria of social demand, existence of other centers, degrees or teachings, anticipation of students, provision of teaching staff, secondment from departments, infrastructure and material means available, accompanied, if appropriate, draft provisions that are precise.
Proposals for the abolition of the faculties and schools provided for in this article shall justify similar criteria and identify from measures in order to specify its scope and the fate of the attached media.
Guarantees the audience to the departments, faculties and schools affected in procedures of the relevant proposals. Also, in these procedures will open a period of public information.
Article 10. Composition
They belong to a faculty or school: a) the educational and investigating personnel seconded. b) the attached research training staff. c) pupils enrolled in the assigned official teachings. d) the secondment of administration and services.
The teaching and research staff, research personnel in training and personnel administration and services only may be attached to a faculty or school.
Article 11. Governing bodies
The governing bodies of the faculties and schools are the cloister and the Board of faculty or school, the Dean or Director or the Dean or director, the vicedecanas or directors or the vicedecanos or vice-principals and the Secretary or Secretary.
The rules of procedure shall regulate aspects organization, operation, legal and administrative system, and, where applicable, commissions and powers attributed to them.
Article 12. Human and material resources
The faculties and schools will have its own budget which will be assigned directly by the Governing Council.
The University will provide the necessary material and human resources for the proper development of the activities of the faculties and schools.
