University extension
Article 131. Extracurricular activities
The University will develop extracurricular activities, addressed to any member of the University community and society in general, in order to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and culture, equality between women and men, the promotion of the sport, the improvement of the quality of life and the protection of the environment, as budgets of social progress.
University outreach of the University of Alicante will pay special attention to social demands of their environment. Uniquely, it will promote programmes for older persons.
Extracurricular activities may develop in collaboration with other bodies, public or private, by Convention.
In order to achieve greater integration of the University in the Alicante region, the policy of University venues, through appropriate agreements will be encouraged.
Article 132. University culture
The University of Alicante are responsible for connecting to the University with the system of living ideas of his time. To this end, it will boost its commitment to intellectual reflection, creation and dissemination of culture.
Based on dissemination of knowledge and culture, the University carried out a transparent, truthful, communication responds to the general interests of the institution and to help social integration.
For the development of its cultural policy, the University of Alicante will take into account the linguistic and cultural plurality of the society of the Valencia region, as well as the promotion of the language of this.
Article 133. The University Sports
The University of Alicante assumes sport and the acquisition of habits of healthy lifestyle as part of the training of students and considers it to be of general interest to any member of the University community.
The University will establish measures to promote sport among members of the University community and the effective compatibility with academic education of their students.
Article 134. Cooperation for development
The University of Alicante will encourage the participation of those who integrate the University community in projects of international cooperation and solidarity, as well as activities involving a momentum of the culture of peace, sustainable development and respect for the environment as essential elements for solidarity progress.
