Like this, the Spanish constitutionalism maintains big influence in the theory and praxis democratic current in Iberoamérica. The development and the effects of this influence do that it exist special sensitivity to the constitutional reality with the countries that follow maintaining his look to the Iberian Peninsula.
The University of Alicante - UA from his creation has not left to realize academic and cultural exchanges with the universities and diverse institutions latinoamericanas. The UA explains from the decade of 1990 with the Institute Iberoamericano of Constitutional Studies - IBEC.
The IBEC has a long experience in the study of the constitutionalism iberoamericano and his constant will of cultural and academic exchange has gone consolidating of way paulatina in distinct areas like the docencia and the investigation from taken part of the years 90, in which went creating the first ties with the distinct academies and centres of constitutional juridical studies iberoamericanos.
The activities that comes developing the IBEC adecuan to the commitments solidarios of cooperation that the Spanish State maintains with the countries iberoamericanos, that in this case refer to key subjects for the consolidación of democratic diets and for his social modernization. The linguistic coincidence and the sustrato cultural common that joins to Spain with these countries opens the doors to favour meetings. The IBEC wants to create nooses of constitutional culture with all the centres of education and academic organizations that devote to the education, promotion, investigation and application of the constitutional knowledge, for this, has a team pluridisciplinar of constitucionalistas iberoamericanos and Spanish that maintains permanent contact with the reality iberoamericana.
The IBEC pretends to constitute in a space of solid reflection for all the constitutional currents that are eclosionando in both banks of the Atlantic from the exhaustive knowledge of the situation in which live the countries iberoamericanos, and besides, in a space of knowledge of the situation iberoamericana and, of investigation of the same offering to the young researchers more promising so that they can follow feeding first in his breast and later in his respective countries of origin the wealth of his thought.
