Report 2007-08, University of AlicanteReport 2007-08, University of AlicanteCenter for Graduate and Doctoral Studies (CEDIP) is an administrative body which was approved by the Governing Board of the University of Alicante in the meeting held July 29, 1999. Its origin is closely linked to the restructuring operation in postgraduate studies and degrees at the postgraduate and especializacióny addresses the need to unite in a single location all the management tasks academic and administrative.
CEDIP began operations during the year 1999-2000 as the body responsible for collecting, channel and provide the necessary coverage to postgraduate studies and graduate degrees and specialization.
CEDIP, in addition to carrying out administrative work arising out of its powers-registrations, transfers, certificates, records, curricula, dissertations, qualifications, filing, etc .- turn acting as Secretariat of the Committee of Postgraduate Studies-body directly linked to the Vice President for Research, Development and Innovation, being assimilated to a Faculty or School. Has a Director and Secretary, with rank equivalent to that of Secretary and Dean of the Faculty, respectively. The administrative management is done through a Technical Directorate and two negotiated so-called "Third Cycle" and "own Postgraduate Degrees and Specialization."
entry into force of Royal Decree 1393/2007, of October 29, which provides management of the university officials assumed, on the one hand, the extinction of doctorates governed by Royal Decree 778/1998, of April 30, a deadline on October 1, 2009, and secondly, the necessary adjustment of the master and officers authorized and implemented under the Ordenació n contained in Royal Decree 56/2005 of October 21, to the dictates of the new rules. In this area, CEDIP plays a key role in organizing the coordinacióny process that must involve the extinction of former doctoral programs and the introduction of new degrees of MA ster's and PhD programs.
Among the activities undertaken by the CEDIP regarding the competence of doctors over the year 2007-08 include the following:
has continued with the plan for extra funding for doctoral programs for quality targets, with 150,000 €, which have benefited 22 programs.
Also on the quality of doctoral programs, it is noteworthy that 14 of our university programs have the distinction of Quality in the call by the MEC < img style = "width: 14px" src = "file:///C:/DOCUME% 7E1/741904% 7E1/CONFIG% 7E1/Temp/msohtml1/01/clip_image002.gif" alt = "" , height = "12" /> .
Total enrollment in doctoral programs during the academic year 2007-08 was 954, of whom 88 did so in the 10 programs covered by the RD 56/2005.
During the 2007-2008 academic year, have advocated a total of 121 doctoral dissertations, with the following distribution areas:
