To access to official grade degrees, the students with foreign studies will have to fulfil the academic requirements of access to spanish university studies and request the place through the systems of preinscripción (official university studies admision system for public universities)
- Obtain, through the Ministry of Spanish Education, the validation of the foreign title preuniversitario by the Spanish title of Bachillerato or request the validation of foreign studies of professional training by the Spanish title equivalent.
- Present and surpass the proof of access to the official educations of degree (selectivity). The National University of Education to Distance (UNED) organises the proof of specific selectivity for foreign students.
- Request square through the systems of preinscripción (for all the degrees given by public universities (except for which do not have limit of admission).
They are three ways to obtain an academic recognition in Spain of the official university degree obtained abroad.
The situations contemplated in the sections a and b allow to request a place in other grade degrees through preinscripción by the nominated "contingent of titled" .
To obtain information of homologation procedures for foreigners:
The foreign students that have obtained the homologation of the Spanish degree "bachillerato" (high scool studies) have to pass the general admission exam. This general exam is organized by the Distance Education National University (UNED).
They are UNED exams in all the Spanish provinces, in Latin American and European capitals, in Morocco and in Guinea.
They are two exams by year. One at the beginign of June (registration in April). The second one in September (registration at the end of July).
Structure of the General Admission exam.
- General phase: Compulsory. It consists of 4 exercises.
- Comment a text. Spanish language
- Foreign language (German, French, English, Italian, Portuguese)
- Spain History or Philosophy History
- A modality subjet
To pass the general phase will allow to access to official university grade studies at the Spanish universities.
The Ministry of Education will adapt the contents of the common matters for the foreigners students.
- Specific phase: Volunteer. Temporal validity of 2 years. To improve the admission qualification.
- At least exams of two modality subjets.
- To improve the qualification it is necessary to obtain at least 5 points.
- It is highly recommended to pass de specific phase if you want to study official degree where the admission qualification required is high (Example; Medicine, Nursing, Architecture, Teaching, Translation, etc)
The preinscripcion procedure rule is the Royal decree 1892/2008, cap VI.
By means of the system of preinscripción a student can request squares in order of preference in university degrees that give in the public universities of a same autonomous community, by means of an only form and in a same term.
