It is necessary to distinguish some situations:
The procedures and requirements of admission vary depending on that the student proceed of educational systems of countries of the European Union or of other countries.
With general character, it will be necessary to have finalised the studies of secondary or preuniversitarios in the country of origin.
Pertinent students of educational systems of countries of the European Union (+ Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, European Schools and Bachillerato International). This rule also is applicable to the pertinent students of the educational system of the Chinese Popular Republic by governmental agreement.
To access to official studies of degree in Spain will suffice with accrediting the fulfillment of the requirements of admission to university studies in the country of origin.
The National University of Education to Distance (UNED) commissions to realise the verification of the fill of these requirements by means of the documentation acreditiva that they have to present the interested.
The UNED once checked the fill of the requirements, will issue the "credencial of access" that will include the qualification of admission to university studies Spaniards.
The students that want to access to degrees with more demand that available squares will be able to realise the specific phase of the proof of access (selectivity). The proof will realise it in the UNED.

With the selectivity surpassed is possible to request the entry in any university study of level of degree.
Once obtained the requirements of admission (credencial EU, selectivity surpassed) the applications of squares to obtain admission in the public universities Spaniards realise through a procedure designated "preinscripción" by means of which request squares of admission in order of preference in the degrees given by the public universities of a same Autonomous Community.
Rule;
The applications of square of students with university studies partial or total foreigners that have not obtained the homologation of his title in Spain will resolve by the Rector in accordance with the criteria that have established, to the effect, the Council of Government of the university in which the student request admission.
To result admitted, the student will have to obtain the recognition (validation) of at least 30 credits ECTS.
The recognition of credits will obtain in function of the similarity between the knowledges and competitions purchased in the asignaturas surpassed in the foreign studies with the asignaturas of the Spanish degree to which pretends access.

In the University of Alicante, the applications of admission by this road will present in the office (administrative office) of the faculty or university school that give the degree to which pretends access. The offices will establish the term of admission of applications.

- Original and photocopy of the Passport or Number of Identification of Foreigners (NIE)

All the documents will have to be translated legally and legalised by diplomatic road.
A titled university foreigner can access to university studies Spaniards of degree and to studies of postgrado (másteres university official, doctorate and own studies of postgrado) previous recognition of his foreign title.

The course 2010/11 has culminated the implantation of the European Space of Upper Education (EEES) in the university system Spanish. Be in possession of a university title European obtained according to the rule of European Space allows to access to university studies Spaniards, especially to studies of postgrado, without need to realise procedures of homologation (suffices with the documentary accreditation to be in possession of the university degree).
Also, they are established specific procedures for the recognitions of university titles Europeans for the professional exercise.
In case to request homologation, the tramitación will be simpler since it shares a structure, length and system of credits and common qualifications inside the European space.
Can access to official studies of postgrado (máster official and/or programs of doctorate) without previous need of homologation of the university title foreigner obtaining the "favourable technical report" by part of the Centre of Studies of Doctorate and Postgrado (CEDIP) of the University of Alicante.
For this, it will be necessary to present the corresponding supporting documentation to the university degree official cursada abroad.
The documents to present will have to be legalised and, in his case, translated.
The obtaining of the "favourable technical report" will allow to request admission in studies of postgrado in the University of Alicante and in no case supposes the homologation of the foreign titles.
The students with titles obtained in accordance with the rule of the European Space of Upper Education (titles obtained in the European Union) access to the studies of postgrado (másteres university and doctorates) in the same conditions and with the same procedures that the students with university titles Spaniards.

To access to studies of postgrado the first requirement is the one to having obtained an official foreign title of university level.
The procedure of admission is different if the title has obtained in accordance with the rules of the European Space of Upper Education (EEES) or if the title has obtained in countries no pertaining to the European Space.

Royal decree 1393/2007 by which establishes the ordenación of the official university educations

It does not demand any type of legalisation for the documents issued in States members of the European Union or signatarios of the Agreement on the Economic Space European (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein):
In the other cases, the documents issued abroad will have to be properly legalised with arrangement to the following conditions:
· Documents issued in countries that have subscribed the Agreement of Have to it 5 October 1961: it is sufficient with the only legalisation or "apostilla" widespread by the competent Authorities of the country.

· Documents issued in countries that have subscribed the Agreement Andrés Beautiful (Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Panama, Peru and Venezuela): they will have to be legalised by diplomatic road (the procedure deletes the last formality of the ordinary legalisation). - Ministry of Education of the country of origin for titles and certificates of studies and in the corresponding Ministry for certificates of birth and nationality.
- Foreign office of the country where issued said documents.
- Diplomatic or consular representation of Spain in said country, and in the Section of Legalisations of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (C/ Padilla, 46 - MADRID)
· The documents issued by diplomatic or consular Authorities of other countries in Spain have to legalise in the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The article 36.1 of the Law 30/1992, of 26 November, of Juridical Diet of the Public Administrations and of the Common Administrative Procedure, signals that the tongue of the procedures transacted by the General Administration of the State will be the Spanish. In accordance with this, the regulatory norms of these procedures demand that the documents issued abroad that they wish to do cost in the same go accompanied of official translation to the Spanish (when they are not issued in this language)
The official translation will be able to do:
· By Translator sworn, properly authorised or inscribed in Spain.
· By any diplomatic or consular Representation of the Spanish State abroad.
· By the diplomatic or consular representation in Spain of the country that it is citizen the applicant or, in his case, of the of origin of the document

Will be able to do use of the modality of "Student Visitor"
The student visitor will be able to do use of the modality of matrícula extraordinary that allows to a student/to that there is cursado or this cursando university studies in his country of origin, select asignaturas of the University of Alicante for cursarlas during a semester or a complete academic course.
This modality of matrícula can use for cursar asignaturas included in studies of degree or in studies of postgrado official. The students visitors will not be able to enrol of more than 30 credits by semester or of 60credits by complete course.
Will be able to limit the matrícula in asignaturas of first course where have covered the squares by official students.
It will not be able to simultanear matrícula extraordinary with matrícula ordinary.
To do use of the modality of "student visitor" will have to present the application of admission through the Office of Mobility of the UA to principle of the academic course.

The concept of free election has changed with the implantation of the titles of degree of the European Space of Upper Education. The students that cursen these studies will be able to obtain a recognition of until a maximum of 6 credits ECTS by the participation in:
Before the start of each academic course, the Council of Government of the University of Alicante will define the nature of the activities that will have this academic recognition
The students that cursen ancient degrees (diplomaturas, degrees, etc.:
1.- They will be able to choose the asignaturas of other studies that appear in the catalogue of free configuration that can consult accessing to his plan of studies from the section of "Studies and Access" of the web and puncturing "free configuration". They have to take into account that each degree has his own catalogue of free configuration.
2.- Also they will be able to cursar optativas of the own studies but requesting them to cover credits of free configuration.
3.- Participating in academic activities like courses of languages, days, conferences, seminars, cursillos, courses of summer, etc. that serve to cover credits of free configuration. Has to take into account that so that these activities serve to cover credits of free configuration have to be on purpose approved for this end by the Council of Government of the University of Alicante.
The incorporation of the credits obtained by the participation in academic activities recognised can realise presenting the corresponding certificate in the office. The recognition of credits by languages will be able to do when they go to finish the studies. It will pay 25% of the value of the credits incorporated. The qualification will be of APT/To.
The Secretariat of Special Courses (CECLEC) coordinates, orders and centralises the information on the activities that serve to cover credits of free configuration.
