Born in 1980 in Craiova (Romania) Mihnea Ignat is possibly the most outstanding representative of the new generation of Romanian orchestra conductors. Chief conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Alicante since its creation in 2005, has shared this position with the of Director partner of the Orchestra Symphonic Nacional of the Dominican Republic during the 2009/10 season. Since February 2010 he has worked as an Assistant of the famous Russian orchestra conductor Dmitrij Kitajenko with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, etc. In the same way he works as Assistant de el Maestro Jesús López Cobos with orchestras such as the National Orchestra of Spain, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta "Freixenet" of the Escuela Superior de Música "Reina Sofía" of Madrid, etc.
He graduated with the highest grades in direction of Orchestra and composition at the National University of music Bucharest in 2004 and then the masters in orchestra conducting with renowned Romanian director Horia Andreescu.
