The Statute of the University of Alicante declares that the University has, as the Valencian Community, two official languages, Catalan and Valencian, Castilian or Spanish. This reality and the opening to multilingualism does a value and a defining feature of its identity as a University Valencia and European, welcoming and open to all cultures and knowledge. We are, therefore, a multilingual University, which wants its members to be multilingual assets.
The University of Alicante, on a proposal from the Commission's language politic, has adopted, within the guidelines that marks the Strategic Plan of the UA, this multi-annual Plan of linguistic policy for the official languages with the desire that the University in its entirety, the personnel and units and centres deployed it on everyday in their spheres of action.
All that we are the UA, we must make the Valencian language of communication and work, teaching and learning of all and all academics, both University staff and students who choose the University of Alicante for his university education. Thus, the University will prepare future generations of graduates capable of working in both official languages.
