May 24, 2011 the Equality Commission adopted the "procedure of follow-up to the implementation of the first Plan of equality of opportunities between women and men of the AU (2010-2012)" proposed by the Working Group established for this purpose, composed of members of the Commission itself. The procedure was initiated on July 4, 2011 with the referral of a form to gather information on the implementation of the actions of the equality Plan to a total of 115 institutions of the AU (centres, departments, institutes, services, units...)
The process of gathering information was completed on September 14, 2011 and thereafter the Equality Unit worked in the systematization of the information contained in the 551 received response forms.
18 January 2012 the PIUA follow-up working group prepares a proposal for a report based on the work presented by the equality unit. This proposal is elevated to the Equality Commission of the AU, which at its meeting of 17 February 2012 adopts the "follow-up report on the 1st Plan of equality of opportunities between women and men of the AU (2010-2012)"
