NEWSLETTER 1. Unit of Equality

The "Guide for an egalitarian speech in the University of Alicante" offers alternative and resources for the visibilización of the women in relation with the practical discursivas academic and institutional that develop in the space of the university. After a brief introduction (For a discruso egalitarian in the university), the guide develop around three axes. The first (Alternatives to be visible through the words), addresses questions related with the gender of the names and the concordancia. The second (Alternative and proposals to be visible along the speech), has to see with the grammar and the distinct types of speech. The third (Alternative and proposals not to fall in stereotypes) alert on expressive uses estereotipados that perpetuate the desiguadad. The guide enrich with examples extracted of texts elaborated in and by integral of the UA; and complete with an appendix of professions and charges, a bibliography and a brief reference to the legal frame that normativiza the use of an egalitarian language in the public administrations.

In 2010 it approved the I Plan of Equality between women and men of the University of Alicante.The Plan of Equality articulate around seven axes that treat to achieve all the fields of activity of the UA (visibilización and sensitisation, docencia, investigation, access and promotion of the PDI and of the PAS, work and study in the UA, representation and training). These axes develop through a total of 86 actions linked, to his time, to a responsible organ, an organ that has to execute it and a term estimated for his fulfillment. The execution of some of these actions is developing of automatic form whereas others involve an additional effort. The Unit of Equality difundirá the novelties and actions that carry out in matter of politics of gender in the University of Alicante through newsletters.

We initiate this series with the presentation of "the Guide for an egalitarian speech in the University of Alicante". With her fulfils the Action 10 of the Axis 1 of the Plan of Equality. In his elaboración have taken part: the Vicerrectorado of Institutional Relations (responsible organ); the Unit of Equality and the Centre of Studies on the Woman (organs ejecutores); the professors Mª Carmen Marimón and Isabel Santamaría (authors); and Gerencia and the Servei of Promoció of the Valencià (collaborators).
