In the last years, the interest of the Public Powers by the questions related with the equality of gender has experienced a remarkable growth that concretise in the approval of a series of laws directed to the remoción of the obstacles that follow preventing that the equality between women and men foreseen by the law was really effective.
Under this legislative umbrella, the distinct fields that conform the entramado social have to adopt strategies that propicien in his area of activity and of influence the aim of the equality of gender. The University, by his paper of transmissive institution of values, no only can not remain extraneous to this dynamics of promotion of the equity, that is consolidating in all the State, but that comes forced, by laws that concern him specifically, to promote this impulse to the equality between women and men in the academic field.
The Organic Law 3/2007 for the Effective Equality of Women and Men foresees a very valuable instrument for propiciar the achievement of this aim: the plans of equality.
The plans of equality, are, as they define in the article 46 of the mentioned law, “an orderly group of measures adopted after realising a diagnostic of situation, tendentes to achieve in the company the equality of deal and of opportunities between women and men and to delete the discrimination by reason of sex. The plans of equality will fix the concrete aims of equality to achieve, the strategies and practical to adopt for his achievement, as well as the establishment of effective systems of follow-up and evaluation of the aims fixed”.
