The XXII Congress of Spanish Geographers, organized by the Association of Spanish Geographers and geographers at the University of Alicante, in collaboration with the Association of Geographers, develop two presentations, two panel discussions and three fieldwork trips. The papers are devoted to topics Power and Territory: dynamics and processes and Urban expansion: from utopia to reality . Two territorial challenges for the XXI Century, whose developments are, in turn, interconnected and multi-territorial aspects of the utmost importance, as the environment, geo-demographic changes in progress, with economic and social development in its various scales and activities with scenery, among others. In addition, both the energy and urban planning have, in developed countries, with a recent history should also be analyzed to better explain the current breaks on both topics.
The Congress proposes two round tables in accordance with the present and the future of geography and geographers, Geography, Secondary Education from the European Space for Higher Education and Geographers, professionals Spatial . The first table, part of the discipline teachers in secondary and at university, because both groups have common interests in our training and the need to exchange concerns and proposals for better preparation of students, some of them future geographers. In the second table intervene Geography professionals and academics as responsible for their academic and practical training. The future of professional geographers, their weaknesses and strengths, its labor market ... are subjects for debate. New Degrees of Master Geography and specific but also related, will be present in both panels.
