Descriptor: The paper is concerned with which is probably the greatest environmental challenge and geopolitical World at the present time: the energy, which is a prerequisite for the functioning of the economic system, but whose impacts, especially with regard to emissions of greenhouse gases threaten the very survival of the system and the planet as a whole . 9.30 to 12.30 Paper 2: Urban expansion: from utopia to reality
Descriptor: The paper addresses one of the largest territorial and environmental challenges facing Spanish society at the start of the century: how to deal with, and possibly corrected, the depletion of natural and cultural heritage that has been made in recent years for the sake of a course that ultimately economic development has not been shown as such. Utopia was economic growth, reflected in the massive construction of coastal areas and peri-Spanish, the reality is an economic crisis of enormous intensity accompanied by a deterioration in asset recovery difficult . Geography can not remain silent on an issue of timing as environmental, socio-economic and territorial.
