This guide is meant to be a support material for the creation of accessible electronic documents. Throughout the different sections the basic and universal concepts that digital documents must have to be accessible to everyone are introduced.
For the implementation of the concepts we rely on the word processor Microsoft Word of the Office suite as the most widespread among the university community, however, the concepts are extrapolated to any word processor such as Mac Pages, LibreOffice or another, the only thing that will change will be the use of the tools of each program.
Once the accessibility requirements are consolidated, we will focus on understanding the specific basics of PDF documents using the program Adobe Professional, paying special attention to correcting accessibility errors and converting formats: from Word to PDF and from PDF to Word.
Additionally, we will see the singularities of the multimedia documents and several tools for the automatic evaluation of the accessibility of Word and PDF documents and for text recognition in our documents and images.
