The University of Alicante discusses Intellectual Property at the UAIPIT International Conference

The Conference will pay tribute to the President of the Spanish Patent and Trade Mark Office and the new President of the SPTO will participate.
On Friday, 26 November, the University of Alicante hosts the 2nd International Conference UAIPIT on the protection of Intellectual Property in the current Information Society and the contributions for a debate and update, at the Hall of the ‘Germán Bernácer’ Building.
The Conference will bring together national and international experts to examine further disputes arising in the digital environment and analyze the various types of breaches of intellectual property, legal loopholes and most controversial jurisprudential issues. Similarly, the organizers are seeking to turn the meeting into a unique forum for reflection on the digitization of books, Internet downloads, file sharing on P2P networks, new business models and social networks, the problems of plagiarism on television, trademark infringement in the digital environment and the controversy concerning the protection of software and business methods.
Within the framework of the Conference, a tribute will be paid to Alberto Casado Cervino, President of the Spanish Patent and Trade Mark Office, in recognition of his contribution to the protection of industrial property and the UAIPIT project support. Antonio Campinos, the new President of the SPTO is likely to participate in the Conference, along with national and international experts in the field.
The inaugural conference will take place at 9:30 am with the intervention of the UA Vice President for Research, Development and Innovation, Manuel Palomar.
