Alicante, 16 December 2013
The President of the University of Alicante, Manuel Palomar, will present a lecture on alternative supportive and transparent banking given by a lecturer from the University of Valencia, Joan Ramon Sanchis, author of "La banca que necesitamos". It will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, 17 December at 7 pm, in the city of Alicante.
Professor Sanchis will address -in his lecture- an ethical bank after the banking crisis, as a socially responsible alternative. Joan Ramón Sanchis says in his book that the current economic crisis has been determined largely by the poor management of banks.
"La banca que necesitamos" offers a critical view on the measures that are being taken before the economic crisis and the role being played by the banks. This book examines how it has influenced the behavior and evolution of banking institutions (banks, savings banks and credit unions) in the triggering and subsequent development of the financial and economic crisis in Spain and how they might contribute to its improvement. Sanchis states that " the banking model we had before the crisis, which has caused the crisis, which keeps us still in the crisis and the existence of an alternative type of banking -ethical banking- are analyzed in these pages" In the final conclusions, the author attempts to answer the question on the bank we need to get a healthy economy and a fair society.
