The UA Choral Group participates in the International Choral Festival of University Choirs in Poland
Alicante, 27th June, 2013
The University of Alicante’s Choir, conducted by Angel Lluis Ferrando, has been selected to participate in the 11th edition of the International Choral Festival of University Choirs in Poznan (Poland), with other choral groups from Mexico, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Brazil, and Russia.
The Festival began yesterday and will end on 29th June, where the Choir of the UA will present a special repertoire prepared for the occasion, and the common music piece that closes the Festival. It is a great challenge and a unique experience for our University choir.
The Universitas Cantat Festival is an international music event created to give young people the opportunity to do music together. Every two years, Poznan welcomes choirs from around the world.
The Festival concerts take place at various venues around the city and in the Hall of Adam Mickiewicz University, famous for its excellent acoustics. The choirs prepare, among others, works that popularize the music of their country and participate in the final concert, where all groups interpret a song by a contemporary Polish composer accompanied by the symphony orchestra.
