The scientific coordinator of the Equality Project, Ana Rosa Ruiz, from the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, describes as "strategic" the role of the University of Alicante in the development of equality policies. "We need leaders to make our society positively impacted by the progress we make on equality from the institutions”, he said, insisting that "the support of the UA in this regard has been key."

In his speech, Manuel Palomar has highlighted the need to achieve "equity in management" so that we can get the "university model we pursue, an internationalized university, global and open, of social leadership committed to innovation, knowledge and advanced technologies”. "A university committed to the values of a democratic society, supportive and sustainable is only possible if we maintain our commitment to equal opportunities for men and women”, he added.
The workshops of the project Equality, that will continue until Saturday, will be complemented by a programme of cultural activities organized by various university.
