The International Society for Optics and Photonics has appointed a professor from the University of Alicante as a senior member

Professor at the University of Alicante, Inmaculada Pascual, has been appointed as a senior member by the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), in recognition of her experience and professional achievements in the field of optics and photonics, and particularly for her contributions in the field of holography.
Inmaculada Pascual is Professor in Optics at the UA Department of Optics, Pharmacology and Anatomy, she belongs to the University Institute of Physics Applied to Sciences and Technologies and has also been recently named as a senior member of the Optical Society of America (OSA) .
Founded in 1955, the SPIE (http://spie.org) is an international non-profit organization based in Bellingham, United States, positioned as one of the main scientific societies for the diffusion and dissemination of advances in optics and photonics. At present, it serves more than 235,000 members from 155 countries. The society has several reference publications in this field, such as Optical Engineering, Journal of Biomedical Optics, Journal of Electronic Imaging, Journal of Micro/Nanolitography, Journal of Applied Remote Sensing, Journal of Nanophotonics. Journal of Photonics for Energy, Journal of Medical Imaging o la edición electrónica SPIE Digital Library. In 2013, the SPIE has appointed 58 new senior members, two of them Spaniards.
The appointment of Inmaculada Pascual as a senior member means the recognition of her career, as well as her contributions to the international optics community.
