The University of Alicante devotes a week to robotics and automation

The University of Alicante will host a set of activities grouped within the Week of the Automation and Robotics in Alicante (SARA 2013), a meeting that will include both technology transfer issues and scientific contributions, as well as seminars and demonstrations. Among other things, they will present automation solutions for industry, business and services, promoting the exchange and cooperation between the industry of Alicante and academia. It also showed the advanced training level of participating students.
Organized by the Group of Automation, Robotics and Vision (AUROVA) and the Master's Programme in Automation and Robotics of the UA Higher Polytechnic School, it will be held on 11th , 12th and 13th September. The Week is sponsored by the Regional Department of Education within the framework of the EU Prometheus Project. The scientific committee is headed by Fernando Torres Medina.
Among other topics, automation and industrial robotics, automatic control, man-machine/man-robot interfaces, robotic handling, mechatronics, mobile and marine/air robots, intelligent autonomous systems and 2D and 3D computer vision.
The meeting includes presentation of works from Spanish university students in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Computer, Industrial, Telecommunication Engineerings and related fields. It will be officially opened by the UA President, Manuel Palomar, and the director of the Higher Polytechnic College (EPS), Juan Andrés Montoyo, on 11th September at 9:30 am at the EPS Assembly.
