The UA schedules 14 new cultural shows for May and June as a firm commitment to home-grown productions

ACUA is our own production trademark, four theatre releases produced by the UA Drama Club and its Permanent University, the contemporary dance show "Huellas", a result of the UA Dance Club, concerts by the University Chorus and Philharmonic (OFUA) and the exhibition "Mario Benedetti at the University of Alicante", also produced by the UA, and a comprehensive programme of activities dedicated to Spain-Japan dual year.

Alicante, 29 April 2014

The Vice President for Culture, Sports and Language Policies of the UA, Carles Cortés, has presented this morning the new cultural programme ACUA for the months of May and June 2014. The programme includes fourteen music, dance shows, theatre performances and dramatic readings, as well as exhibitions and a programme of activities around the Spain-Japan dual year.

The schedule for these months is marked by a clear commitment to its own production in theatre, dance and exhibitions to which other outsourcing activities have been added to complete the offer. Entrance to eleven of the fourteen activities is free with invitation, as an effort to bring culture closer to the university community and society, as the Vice President, Carles Cortés, states.

ACUA starts on May 6 with Xavi Castillo and Pot de Plom Theatre that will performed " El Mono”, at the UA Museum at 7 pm with tickets at 10 euros. The theatre section brings three new premieres performed by the UA Theatre Club: "Microteatro de andar por casa" directed by Carbonell Pascual, will be the first release on May 8 at 7 pm in the MUA, followed by "Las Asambleístas de Aristófanes" with the direction and dramaturgy of Ricardo Arqueros, a work which will be released on 20 May and will premiere outdoor, at the on-campus amphitheatre, next to the lecture building II, at 8.30 pm. Both guitarist and OFUA will perform workd by Domeniconi and Tchaikovsky, and the Concierto de Aranjuez by composer Rodrigo.
