Representatives from several institutions in Sweden, Libya and Ireland have gathered together this week at the University of Alicante to participate in a workshop series within the FOCUS project (Fostering Quality Assurance at Libyan Universities), to discuss strategic planning in universities. In order to achieve the empowering and growth of universities, the project is being funded by Tempus Programme and coordinated by the International Projects Management Office of the University of Alicante.
According to the coordinator of the project, Esther Boldrini, "the work meetings have been focused on the development of a strategic planning workshop in order to present and describe the best practices of each European university so that the representatives of the Libyan universities can apply the knowledge acquired in their institutions”. Mohamed Ambarek has highlighted the harmony existing between the participating institutions.
The meeting also served to analyse the results achieved so far and to establish the basis of the general plan of FOCUS, in which the actions to be taken until the completion of the project will be settled.
