The University of Alicante launches the Alumni platform as a meeting point for all former students

In order to unite all those who have gone through the University of Alicante under a single web portal, Vice President for Students Nuria Grané presented yesterday the basics of the Alumni Platform, which will be operational early next year.
As Grané explained, this platform will offer access to multiple services, discounts on products and a community for professional and personal interactions.
The initiative has several advantages such as the use of a University Identity Card (TIU) as Alumni to have free access to study rooms, bibliographical reference room and library loan services, access to employment self-employment training programme from the UA Labour Observatory, and access to GIPE’s job opportunities database, going through discounts in sports and languages, essential in any education field.
Also, the Alumni Project will allow alumni to voluntarily participate as ambassadors abroad or advisers for career guidance to other members of the Alumni community.
Round table based on the experiences of the speakers
The Alumni Project was presented yesterday afternoon at the University Museum at a round table where UA alumni exchanged their experiences which was attended by Juan Ramón Gil, editor of Information; Hilda Pérez, head of public prosecutor in Alicante; and Enrique Sentana economist winner of the 2014 Rey Jaime I Award in Economics. They explained how their passage through the UA has marked their professional success and some of the situations they long for from their university life as they nightly played card and discussed with classmates or the passion with which some of their lecturers taught the courses.
Also, the three main characters and UA graduates highlighted the "usefulness of this Alumni initiative as a meeting point and professional support. Moreover, Juan Ramón Gil, Hilda Pérez and Enrique Sentana showed their willingness to be the first members of the Alumni platform as advisors through their professional experience to help the students of the University of Alicante in what they need.
