The scientific-technological meeting will address the main challenges to colour and the visual appearance of the car body

The University of Alicante is hosting the most important concentration of experts in colour and the visual appearance of the car body. The conference, called "2nd 2º BYK-Gardner Iberian Automotive Meeting" that will be held on 23 and 24 October on the campus of the University of Alicante.
The meeting, scientifically coordinated by the Research Group on Colour Vision and the University of Alicante, and organized by BYK-Gardner Spain, a company in the sector of pigments and tools for evaluation sector consist of a scientific-technological seminar on the current major challenges in the field of colour, appearance and harmony in automotive coatings.
During the event, as stated by Francisco M. Martínez Verdú, director of the Vision and Colour group and coordinator of the meeting in Spain, issues such as new instrumentation and psychophysical procedures for characterising the visual appearance, novel effect pigments and current and future innovations in the design and management of colour and appearance will be addressed. Also, formulating and matching colour and texture, new additives for improving automotive coating process control and visual harmony in the production line will be analysed. Other aspects on current regulations affecting the sector and the efficient control and management of the automobile exterior visual harmony will be discussed.
