The 2nd ACTUA Meeting opens with a selection process to decide which business ideas will be selected and developed to turn them into a successful business plan. ACTUA is a University of Alicante's initiative within UA Emprende Programme, Fundeun, Impulsa Alicante, GIPE, the University Observatory for Labour Integration and the Master's Programe in Business Management.
The 2nd ACTUA Meeting has been inaugurated this afternoon by University of Alicante VIce President for Research, Development and Innovation Amparo Navarro, Fundeun Chairman Iván Sempere and Faculty of Economics Dean Juan Luis Nicolau.
Vice President Amparo Navarro stated that we have a great breeding ground for those thinking of a business plan and need counselling, who can find in us great allies through ACTUA and other initiatives such as Impulso or Fundeun's awards for new business ideas, from where many successful ideas have been rescued.
Fundeun chairman remarked that they must be with entrepreneurs and thanked the University of Alicante, all organisers and participants their efforts and dedication to support people with business ideas. Iván Sempere defended they have to try to be increasingly more companies on the side of the University and maintain closed links between university and business.
Faculty of Economics Dean Juan Luis Nicolau explained that ACTUA plans direct training and practice with the support of mentors. As he pointed out, they try to support ideas bringing a change to a better reality with motivation, creativity and innovation.
Participants in this edition of ACTUA are students, would-be entrepreneurs and unemployed people that participate in the activities of local development agencies in the province with their business ideas. They will present their projects this afternoon and the best ones will be chosen to become companies with the support of all participants in this meeting.
ACTUA offers a comprehensive programme with workshops and entrepreneurship oriented lectures. Among other innovations, the meeting has been extended one more day this year to incorporate new content and work sessions and networking.
Awards for the best projects
Selected projects are eligible to the ACTUA-UA Emprende award during the assessment process of ACTUA ideas or some of the awards granted by companies such as Padima, Lealtis Abogados, S.C., Impulso en Red and Coffeework. Also, ACTUA-Impulsa Alicante will select two projects for tutoring in their subsequent development.
Around thirty professionals from the business world and experts from the University of Alicante participate in this meeting to help promoters of business ideas and turn them into feasible and competitive projects.
