Alicante, 6 May 2015
Over forty-eight information booths, among companies and institutions participate next Thursday, 7 May in the 17th University of Alicante Employment and Self-employment Marathon, to be held in the hall of lecture building No. 2. Organised by UA Office of the Vice President for Students through its Career Development Office (GIPE) and the Observatory for Labour Integration, the Marathon aims to promote employment, work placements, and encourage self-employment among the university community, serving as a meeting point for local and national professionals seeking talented students for their companies, as Vice President for Students Nuria Grané explained. Also, during the information sessions, she added, students will be offered useful information from entities and institutions about the possibilities of developing their career.
This seventeenth edition will open at 10 am and run throughout the day with a tour of authorities around the information booths of several companies and institutions, as well as those of the University of Alicante’s training and employment services.
There has been a notable increase in the companies involved in this new edition of UA Employment and Self-employment Marathon, which rose from last year’s sixteen to twenty four this time.
An estimation of over three thousand university students will come over on Thursday to have the opportunity to meet companies, leave their CVs and also learn what companies are looking for in their future employees.
The booths of both the University and the different institutions will provide students with full information on the pathways to follow so that they can apply for work or opt for self-employment..
