University of Alicante, a leading institution in providing Health and Welfare related education
As retrieved from Everis Foundation’s University-Business II Ranking, a survey of Spanish universities on new graduates employability
Alicante. Tuesday, 14 June 2016
In order to get to know which are the best universities in each discipline, Everis Foundation has presented this morning the II University-Business Ranking, a survey of Spanish companies on the employability of new graduates. As for the disciplines related to Health and Welfare, the best results go to the University of Alicante, ahead of the University of Barcelona and the University of Navarra
The UA leads all the disciplines analysed with a score of 9.16 out of 10 in the relation applied to the skills-needs of its graduates. In fact, improving our institution enhancement of awareness has made it go from the fourth position in 2015 to the leading position today
Furthermore, with regard(s) to Business Administration, Economics and Law, the University of Alicante is once more in the top 10 best ranked.
The same study reports that three universities in the Valencia region (Polytechnic, Valencia and Alicante) and Santiago de Compostela are the best rated by companies when they hire graduates without work experience, given the adequacy of their skills to (meet) the market demand.
According to this report, the eight competencies assessed, which have been classified as relevant or essential, are honesty and ethical commitment, ability to learn and adapt to change, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, analysis and problem solving, orientation and results, knowledge of professional technical skills and the ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
A list of universities has been ranked with answers to questions such as: What are the most in demand skills in the Spanish labour market? What are the best most developed/acquired skills by recent graduates from the Spanish universities? What areas of expertise are most demanded when hiring? or what are the best universities for each discipline?
Because no ranking of universities takes as the main criterion the views of companies on the core skills of new graduates to efficiently develop their job and in an effort to relate the needs of the job market with the skills acquired in the educational context, Everis Foundation II University-Company Ranking is based on the assessment provided by employers and companies to determine the best higher education institutions in Spain.
