University of Alicante organises the 2nd Open Data Meeting
The meeting's focus is on the use of free access to information networks for entrepreneurs in the public sector and the impact on transparency and accountability.

2016 edition of the Open Data Meeting will take place in the Auditorium of the University of Alicante Polytechnic School, on Thursday, 17 March, at 9.30 am. The meeting is intended to emphasise the opportunity of entrepreneurship involving the re-use of information in the public sector and its impact from the point of view of transparency and accountability.
University of Alicante President Manuel Palomar, Vice President for Information Technology Francisco Macia will be opening the session along with CEO of Social Responsibility and Self-Governance Promotion Josep Ochoa, who will introduce a discussion on the actions being carried out in the Valencian Government to promote transparency and open data.
The programme presented will be divided into two large blocks. The morning session will be made up of several presentations that will give a strategic vision of open data from organisations such as the Valencian Government Department for Transparency, the Open Data Institute (ODIO) and the open data research network Maredata.
As for the afternoon session, a block with papers related to entrepreneurship with open data initiatives will follow, in which ua:emprende, the one started by the University of Alicante will be dealt with.
#UAbierta, an awards ceremony on entrepreneurship with open data will close the meeting on Thursday, 17 March.
