UA rated as world's top university for tourism research by Shanghai Ranking
Chemical Engineering and Chemistry studies are also outstanding in this world university ranking

The University of Alicante is ranked in a top position in the, Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2017, known as the Shanghai Ranking. The categories of Tourism and Hotel Management as well as Chemistry, are the best rated in the classification of the world universities with more prestige today.
The Shanghai Ranking places the University of Alicante tourism research in a world's top position, among the seventy-five best higher education institutions in Tourism and Hotel Management. However, from the impact perspective of scientific publications, the UA is ranked 12th in the world.
It is not by chance that University of Alicante Professor of Marketing Juan Luis Nicolau has just signed up for Virginia Tech, the leading American university in his field of research.
The University of Alicante is also ranked between 151-200 in the category of Chemistry. Other categories such as Environmental Sciences and Engineering are ranked between 401-500 on the list.
Vice President for Quality Assurance and Educational Innovation Francisco Torres said that for the University of Alicante being ranked in a prominent position in a world-class ranking as it is the Shanghai Ranking is an evidence of the good practice done at the UA and, undoubtedly, a way to encourage us to keep on improving.
