The EUR-ACE quality label awarding, held on a ceremony on 3 October, adds an international accreditation for graduates. The official awarding ceremony took place as part of an Information Day on reflections and new challenges of the EUR-ACE quality label organised by ANECA and the Institute of Engineering (IEE). The ceremony was attended by UA Office for Quality Assurance Director Ángel Grediaga, UA Polytechnic School Director for Postgraduate Communication & Students Josué Nescolarde and UA Polytechnic School Deputy Director for Quality and Educational Innovation Miguel Ángel Lozano.
According to Josué Nescolarde, “among other advantages, these quality labels offer graduates an international recognition that guarantees the acquisition of the skills and competencies established under those labels”.
Both seals are awarded to universities with undergraduate and/or master's degrees that meet a set of standards defined in accordance with the principles of quality, relevance, transparency, recognition and mobility envisaged in the European Higher Education Area. Other than EHEA quality standards, these quality labels "also assess the skills acquired by our graduates that meet the real needs of companies in the sector concerned so that our graduates can be recognised abroad and make their mobility easier," Nescolarde stated.
