UA has been ranked third of Spain's universities with the largest number of followers on Instagram
With @ua_universidad as its username, the University of Alicante shares images and videos and promotes interaction with other users with its hashtag #campusUA
The University of Alicante has managed to be amongst the Spanish universities with more followers over its four years of presence in the social network. On Facebook, the UA has more than 45,000 followers and the figure shoots up to around 94,000 on Twitter

The University of Alicante Instagram account (@ua_universidad) has exceeded the eight thousand followers — 8,041 at the time of writing this article —, which has prompted UA to be amongst the universities with the largest number of supporters in the social network and to become the third Spanish public university in terms of Instagram followers, only behind the universities of Barcelona and Seville, respectively.
The reference hashtag is #campusUA, which allows the University of Alicante’s videos and images, as well as its campus to get identified as UA themes and significantly increases visibility when used by followers in their publications.
Instagram allows users to show a different aspect of what people are used to finding about the University of Alicante, since the images play the leading role. The UA has managed to sneak into the podium of Instagram after four years of presence in the social network through constant activity, with a job that takes great care of interactions with other users, seeking to encourage creativity.
The University of Alicante began to develop its marketing strategy in social networks at the end of 2010 and it has managed to be placed among those with the higher number of followers ever since. In the case of Facebook, the UA has more than 45,000 followers, raking our university eleventh in Spain and, when it comes to Twitter, the University of Alicante is ranked fifth with its 94,000 followers.
