For the second year in a row, the University of Alicante has been ranked the best Spanish university to study Health Sciences and Well-being, according to the Everis Foundation ranking, which includes the assessment of the firms that hired new graduates without previous experience.
According to the assessment of employers, the study reveals that the best universities for studying degrees related to Health and Well-being are the University of Alicante, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Therefore, the University of Alicante maintains its leadership in the ranking compared to last year’s and is ranked as the best academic institution, among the universities that teach degrees related to health.
The UA Faculty of Health Sciences includes undergraduate degrees in Nursing, and Human Nutrition and Dietetics, six official Master’s degrees and a PhD degree with 36 lines of research.
Vice President for Quality Assurance and Educational Innovation Francisco Torres has stressed that the study does not reflect a timely success, but maintained over the time since this year 2018 is the second consecutive year that the University of Alicante has been ranked first by employers in preparing the best professionals throughout Spain.
According to the Vice President, it is also an excellent result, especially because this ranking is based on the opinions of employers about the preparation of the people they hire, always newly graduates and without previous work experience. They also assessed if the students had acquired the necessary skills in the university to carry out their work.
The study assesses eight competency fields of recent graduates, such as the ability to work in a team; interpersonal and communication skills; technical knowledge of the job; honesty and ethical commitment; ability to learn; analysis and resolution of conflicts; results-driven; and the ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments
The main focus of the survey is the assessment by those responsible for hiring graduates in the last five years, as well as their adaptation to the needs of the companies.
