Two other University of Alicante Polytechnic School Master's degrees certified with EUR-ACE® International Quality Standards
Alicante, Thursday 18 July 2019
The University of Alicante was distinguished with two more quality awards for its degree programmes. In Particular, the EUR-ACE® International Quality Label in two official Master's degrees taught at the University of Alicante Polytechnic School: the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering: Roads, Channels and Ports and the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering.
EUR-ACE® is managed by the European Network for the Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), jointly with the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and the Engineering Institute of Spain (IIE). It is a seal internationally recognised and promotes both academic and professional mobility by enabling the identification of the highest quality academic engineering programmes in Europe and beyond.
For a degree programme to be awarded an international label of this type, it needs all three academic bodies to agree that it meets the highest European quality standards, as well as the competences acquired and the learning outcomes achieved by its students to satisfy the demanding requirements of the academic and professional institutions in this field.
Vice President for Quality Assurance and Educational Innovation Francisco Torres highlighted that these two seals contribute to increase the number of degree programmes of the University of Alicante that already have a recognised International Quality Seal, either in the field of Engineering (EUR-ACE label), or in the field of Computer Science (EURO-INFO label), which are the two labels existing so far in ANECA’s SIC Programme.
Moreover, the University of Alicante is waiting to get the recognition of too more labels of this kind and is also eligible for a similar award, the EUROBACHELOR, for the undergraduate degree in Chemistry. This way, the number of degree programmes recognised with this type of awards could reach a dozen.
