The presentation of the Gender Equality Award 2019 and the reading of the manifesto will be the main institutional events marking International Women’s Day at the University of Alicante

One more year, the University of Alicante joins the celebrations of International Women's Day with a comprehensive activity programme aimed at everyone, both on campus and at different university venues.
An institutional event will be held in the Multimedia room (University Council and Administration building) next Wednesday 7 March at 12 noon, with the reading of the 8 March manifesto and the presentation of the Gender Equality Award 2019 to PhD in Medicine Rosa Ballester Añón.
The University of Alicante will celebrate International Women’s Day through a programme of about 40 activities and events held in February, March and April, including courses, lectures, talks, exhibitions, theatre, dancing, music and film screenings, among others.
A must-see on campus is the 7th Women in Research exhibition organised by the Faculty of Arts on 7 March. Lecture buildings 1 and 2 and the University Council and Administration building will house the exhibition “Honouring Women - Women Mathematicians”, starting on 4 March. Other exhibitions will be displayed at the Main Library as well as the Law, Geography, Economics and Media libraries.
A football match will be played on 5 March with Patricia Campos and secondary and upper secondary schools, in the framework of the Supera-T project, and the Women and Sports Matchday is scheduled for 14 March.
