The MUA schedules a number of workshops, guided tours and a show to celebrate International Museum Day.
The Museum will start offering educational leisure activities for the whole family this Friday

Once again, the University of Alicante Museum (MUA) joins the celebrations of the International Museum Day (IMD 2019) with several educational leisure activities designed by the staff working at the MUA Educational Area and the Faculty of Education, which will take place from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 May.
“Museums as cultural hubs. The future of tradition” is this year’s theme proposed by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). With this in mind, the MUA has designed an attractive and extensive activity programme that will begin on Friday, 17 May with the “IMD Party”, from 5 pm to 8 pm. A proposal for family fun that includes four workshops and educational leisure activities on the design of stained glass, a mosaics workshop, footprints in clay and handmade kites. The day will end at 8.30 pm with a show ("Essere, el eco del silencio") that includes the presentation of the artist book by artist Natalia Pérez Chazarra and musical album by Carlos Izquierdo.
The second day, Saturday 18 May, will begin at 10 am with a guided tour of the MUA's exhibitions of contemporary art and archaeology. An educational workshop linked to the Contemporary Art Encounter will be held at 11 am. This encounter is currently on display at the University Museum, and the day will end with a new guided visit, around the MUA exhibitions at 6 pm.
On Sunday 19 May, a guided tour will start again at 10 am after which an educational workshop on art, tradition and future will be given at 11 am by artist Pilar Sala.
