University of Alicante to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its undergraduate degree in Tourism
The partnership between UA and former Valencian Tourism Institute was key for the creation of the Valencia Government Tourism School assigned to the University of Alicante.
The anniversary events will be held at the German Bernacer building on 4 October at 5 pm
Alicante, Friday 27 September 2019
Coinciding with the beginning of the current academic year, 2019-2020, the University of Alicante official undergraduate degree in Tourism is 25 years now as a result of the institutional collaboration between the UA and the former Valencian Tourism Institute (ITVA). The study programme in Tourism was until then assigned to the Madrid Tourism School.
The intense collaboration resulted, in 1994, in the creation of the Valencia Government Official School of Tourism, which was — through a mandatory agreement — assigned to the UA for teaching purposes. Since then, all Tourism private schools in the region of Valencia offering the undergraduate degree in Tourism were linked to the new School.
The events to celebrate the 25th anniversary will begin at 5 pm on Friday, 4 October, at the assembly hall in the German Bernacer building. The opening ceremony will be attended by University of Alicante President Manuel Palomar, Regional Secretary for Tourism Francesc Colomer, Faculty of Arts Dean Juan Mesa and Faculty of Economic & Business Science Dean Raúl Ruiz and Director of the UA Institute for Tourism Research José Luis Gascó.
