Again this year, the University of Alicante is featured on the list of top universities worldwide published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China since 2003, based on data about 4,000 higher education institutions. UA degrees rank highly in five different areas of knowledge, particularly the Tourism degree (36th position worldwide).
Vice President for Studies Planning, Quality Assurance and Languages Francisco Torres has commented positively on the UA’s results, stating that the ranking “proves that Spanish universities are in good health as, despite the COVID-19 crisis and funding problems, their performance against quality indicators is very high.”
The University of Alicante features highly not only in the general ranking (appearing in the 601-700 band), but also in the global ranking of academic subjects. Up to five areas of knowledge at the UA have made the ranking, with the UA Tourism degree standing out as one of the best in the world (36th position).
The Nursing and Chemical Engineering degrees also score highly in the Shanghai ranking (201-300 band), whereas the UA degrees in Ecology (301-400) and Chemistry (401-500) have performed strongly in the ranking of academic subjects.
