The University of Alicante and the Bar Association agree on the implementation of the Master's Degree in Legal Practice

The University of Alicante, Ignacio Jiménez Raneda, and Mariano Caballero Caballero, Dean of the Alicante Bar Association, have signed this morning an agreement to jointly teach the official "Master's Programme in Legal Practice". This event has also been attended by the Vice President of Institutional Relations, Aránzazu Calzada, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Amparo Navarro.
Caballero has shown his satisfaction by this agreement and the University President has said that "a major challenge which society met to gain maximum benefit." The Dean of Law, Amparo Navarro, said: "This is one of the most special moments experienced as dean," and wanted to thank the Bar Association for its collaboration during the last 30 years with the University of Alicante and in particular, with Mariano Caballero.
The Master's Programme, has been planned in accordance with Law 34/2006, of October, the 30th concerning access to the professions of Barrister and Solicitor of the Courts, a law that demands the overcoming of specific training and further evaluation to obtain the professional title of lawyer enabling for the exercise of the profession. The UA and the Bar Association, through its School of Legal Practice, will teach the Master's Programme with a balanced composition between practicing lawyers and academicians. The direction will be on a university lecturer of the Faculty of Law and shall be appointed by the University President. The agreement also agreed to create an Academic Committee, composed of the Deans of the Faculty of Law and the ICA in Alicante, along with three Ph.D. lecturers and three lawyers appointed by the ICA, the Director and Co-director of the Master's. The Academic Committee will be chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Amparo Navarro Fraure.
After this starting point, and once all the teaching programming is defined, the University of Alicante, with the agreement of the Faculty of Law, submitted to ANECA for its accreditation and to the Region of Valencia's Goverment to obtain the proper authorization.
