The Ministry of Justice honours the University of Alicante's Professor, Esperanza Gallego, with the Honour Cross

Esperanza Gallego, Professor in Commercial Law at the University of Alicante, has been awarded the San Raimundo de Peñafort Honour Cross, one of the highest distinctions awarded by the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry of Justice has decided to reward this UA Professor, in recognition of her impeccable career, teaching and research activities, and also for the services rendered, and for her contribution to the development and refinement of Law and Jurisprudence.
Brief CV of Esperanza Gallego
Esperanza Gallego Sánchez is Professor in Commercial Law at the University of Alicante. She is a permanent member of the General Codying Commission, trading section, chairwoman of the presentation of the Commission for the trade purchases reform and member of the special section of this Commission for the reform of the Bankruptcy Act.
In her professional work, she has combined from the beginning, teaching and research tasks with the practice of law through the performance of judicial duties as she has been a judge assigned to the Provincial Court in Alicante and an external consultant to the United Nations reform of legislation in various Latin American countries. She is currently a bankruptcy administrator.
Her scientific work comprises the most transcendent of commercial law, such as Company Law, Bankruptcy Law, the Commercial Contracts and the Intellectual Property Law. She heads a research group of excellence consisting of over twenty researchers funded by several successive projects of the Ministry of Education and the Generalitat Valenciana and she is a member of the Boards of the journals in areas of Business Law of great relevance, as the Journal of Company Law, Insolvency Law Journal and Yearbook Paraconcursal or Bankruptcy Law.
She is the Director of the Master’s Programme in Industrial Property Law, Intellectual Law and Information Society at the University of Alicante, a member of the Tourism Institute and the coordinator of the Area of Commercial Law at the University of Alicante’s Department of Commercial and Procedural Law.
