The European Commission increases its aid for services to SMEs through SEIMED Project

SEIMED project, lead by the Institute for Valencian Small and Medium Industry (IMPIVA) and for which the University of Alicante is a partner, will be endowed a budget of over €2.3 million for the next two years. This will increase the number of cooperation agreements between regional and European companies.
The European Commission has increased by 7.5%, aid targeted at promoting the internationalization of R & D, technology transfer and access to European projects, project services provided by the Seimas and in addition involved University of Alicante, COEPA, the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, the Council of Chambers, the Network of Technological Institute of the Comunitat Valenciana, the Valencian Community Foundation and the European Regional Development Agency of Murcia.
This increased budget will strengthen the network path SEIMED successfully launched in 2008. In the two and a half year life of the project 145 events have been organized aimed at SMEs with more than 7,000 participants, advice given on an individual basis to over 900 customers, participated in over 60 business meetings and technology transfer and have signed 48 agreements for transnational collaboration for the development of research projects and technology transfer.
Since its inception, the project led by IMPIVA SEIMED in Valencia has emerged as a benchmark to support the participation of SMEs in European research projects actively collaborating in the implementation of 24 consortia for participation in the Seventh Research Framework Programme of the European Commission.
