The MUA gives the awards of the 11th Contest on Educational Workshops
Alicante, 16th June 2011
171 works were selected from over 3,000 submitted
On Saturday, 18th June, from 12 noon, the Museum of the University of Alicante (MUA) will host the awards ceremony and exhibition on the 11th Contest on Educational Workshops, which honours the best works of the students participating in the artistic workshops performed in the university museum during the academic year 2010/11. Over 3,000 students –from pre-school to secondary education- from more than 40 schools in the province of Alicante and Albacete. A total of 171 children and adolescents will be honored by their imagination and creativity. One more year, these activities were made possible through the collaboration of the Caja Mediterráneo’s Social Action Programme.
The event will be attended by the UA Vice President for Extracurricular Activities, Josefina Bueno Alonso and the Director of the MUA, Mauro Hernandez Perez.
The MUA's educational proposal for this year has raised two workshop-visits to the exhibitions “Hogares. Colección MUA” and “Històries (de la nostra historia)” by the artist from Alcoy Antoni Miro. The workshops offered to students vary depending on the age of the participants: experimental work around the space, collages and reinterpretation of classic and contemporary works of art to reflect on various social issues.
After visiting the exhibition of the work and the awards ceremony, which consists of projecting a video with the graphics memory of the activities and the subsequent delivery of prizes, a snack will be offered.
