The University of Alicante's Philharmonic Orchestra will participate in the Music Marathon at the National Music Hall in Madrid

Along with virtuoso Erzhan Kulibaev and his Stradivarius
The National Centre for Music Dissemination has invited the Philharmonic Orchestra of the University of Alicante to join the Music Marathon held at the National Music Hall in Madrid on 18 and 19 June. The OFUA, under the direction of Mihnea Ignat, will accompany Russian violinist Kulibaev Erzhan, who will play the Stradivarius violin "Rode" of 1722, released by the Maggini Foundation, playing the Concerto for violin and orchestra op. 35 in D Major P. I. Tchaikovsky. The performance will be on Saturday, June 18 at 2 pm at the National Music Hall.
Notably, among other formations and guest artists, the marathon will include the participation of the National Orchestra of Spain.
During the spring season, the OFUA has received several invitations to participate in various festivals internationally, including the International Festival of Youth Orchestras organized by the University of Murcia, the Festival of Youth Orchestras of Spain, organized by the municipality of La Nucia or for the second year, at the 9th International Youth Orchestras Series organized by the University of Zaragoza.
In all these appointments, the OFUA has been accompanied by the virtuoso violinist, a student at the Music Higher School Reina Sofia in Madrid. Kulibaev, which has in its curriculum with several major international awards for violin, will accompany the OFUA in three of the concerts of the season, playing the Violin Concerto in D major op.35 P. I. Tchaikovsky. As Ignat states, "the outstanding invitations we have received this year serve as a lever for all members of the orchestra and put the training in the place it deserves for the excellent work done by all. We believe that the success of this year represents only the beginning of a period of success after many years of quality work and artistic pedagogy”.
The concert at the National Concert Hall joins the other three provided by the OFUA for the summer: on 29th June at the Provincial Music Hall in Alicante, whose funds will be aimed at the victims of the earthquake in Lorca, on 1st July, in the Music Hall in Cox and on 8th July 8 at the Chapí Theatre in Villena.
