The WHO appoints the University Institute for Social Development and Peace as a collaborating centre
The IUDESP will develop actions for the social integration and the promotion of good health jointly with WHO and the Ministry of Health

The World Health Organization has appointed the Interuniversity Institute for Social Development and Peace at the University of Alicante as a WHO Collaborating Centre on Social Inclusion and Health. This appointment requires have establiahed previous collaboration of at least two years and the submission of a project that should be approved by the WHO.
The Director of IUDESP, lecturer Daniel La Parra, said "this appointment is a recognition of the work being developed by the IUDESP in the field of poverty and social inclusion and it is a great opportunity internationally, in terms of cooperation, teaching and research. "
From now on, the IUDESP will launch the project developed jointly with WHO, with a time frame of four years, with actions to be carried out in the European region. Among the actions planned, Daniel Parra advances that they will prepare training materials and programmes that promote equity in health strategies and activities and they will launch a national educational network in principle and international in a short term, which will contact teachers with the goal of including social integration and health in university degrees.
La Parra has advanced also that the actions planned within the next few days in July and November 8 will move to Serbia where he will impart training sessions in collaboration with WHO and the Ministry of Health, and with the participation of Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro.
