The American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) sessions will be held on 7th-8th of July 2016 with a welcome reception and PhD session taking place on 6th of July 2016. The conference will provide a forum for academics, practitioners, and policy makers to present research findings in the areas of real estate economics, real estate finance, urban economics, and other related areas.
The conference will offer a unique opportunity to network with leading academic and researchers in real estate and housing economics and finance, share research results; learn about new approaches, and the changing trends and global developments in the field of real estate and urban economics.

A PhD session will be organized by Piet Eichholtz on July, 6th during the afternoon before the Welcome Reception at the University of Alicante, 'Salón de Grados' of the Faculty of Economics. PhD papers or thesis covering same topics are welcomed to be presented in the PhD session.
Students who want to submit their work should follow the submission guidelines for PhD papers and also should mail a letter from their supervisor acknowledging the presentation. The submission deadline for PhD papers and abstracts will be the 15th of April, and students will receive notice of acceptance/rejection before May 1st.
PhD students whose paper is accepted for presentation will be invited to attend the PhD session at no further cost, and they can attend the conference for the reduced fee mentioned below.

Urbanization and Quality of Life in Asia: Linkages, Impacts and Challenges
Unprecedented urbanization is taking place in Asia, affecting all aspects of life in Asia with significant implications for global development. While boosting growth and regional consumption, urbanization comes with possible negative consequences, such as rising property prices, environmental degradation and health hazards. The purpose of this session is to gather evidence on how urbanization in Asia has affected various socio-economic variables, including quality of life. We are particularly interested in research that focuses on the nexus between urbanization and income inequality, poverty, housing, environment, and health.
The Asian Development Bank Institute offers a two prizes in this topic. The prizes constitute of a prize money of 500 USD each, plus the flight costs within Europe.
