Project of educational Innovation in the teaching about the EU

Within the framework of the Redes-I3CE Program of Research in university teaching at the University of Alicante, organized by the Vice-Rectorate of Quality and Educational Innovation and through the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE) of the University of Alicante, the professors of the CIEE have participated in the Network Project 2016/17 with the network entitled: "New models of teaching and learning applied to Public International Law and European Union Law"

 As a result of this teaching innovation project, on June 1 and 2, 2017, the professors of the CIEE participated with the communication "Teaching instruments through the application of official sources: the model of the institutional web of the European Union", in an oral communication offered in the XV Conference on Networks in University Teaching, and the I International Workshop on Innovation in Higher Education and IT, organized by the Vice-Rectorate of Quality and Educational Innovation and the Institute of Education Sciences.

The communication  presented to this project has been accepted and published under the title, "Teaching methodology through the use of institutional websites: the model of the website of the European Union", in Roig-Vila, R. This teaching research aims to expose the methodology and results obtained from the use of the institutional website of the European Union, as a teaching tool, in the teaching of the subject "Law of the European Union". Through this web resource students are taught how to learn European Union Law through official information sources by accessing and using all the resources offered by this institutional website in the learning and development of the subject of study. This methodology allows teachers to assess the progress in student learning, both the substantive content of the subject, and the management of official sources to achieve a more integrated knowledge of European Union Law. Likewise, it also allows to check the main obstacles detected in students when locating the most relevant information for each block of the subject matter. The objective is to establish a more interactive and practical teaching-learning model, adapted to the European Higher Education Area.
